Mrs. Coufal graduated from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in August 2008 with a Bachelor's of Science in Animal Science. While attending college, she was very involved on campus including being a member of the 2007 UNL Livestock Judging Team, the 2006 UNL Meats Judging Team, the Nebraska Youth Beef Leadership Symposium Steering Committee, and Block and Bridle secretary.
After college graduation, Mrs. Coufal was hired as the agricultural education teacher at Loup City. While she was teaching full time, she gained her teaching certificate with an endorsement in Agricultural Education. Mrs. Coufal was then hired as the Cedar Rapids Agricultural Education instructor to place more emphasis on agricultural science, where she teaches a variety of classes such as Animal Science, Plant Science, Landscape Design, Range Management, Floriculture, Food Science, Livestock Evaluation, Introduction to Agriscience, Welding, Construction, Agricultural Business Management and Agricultural Leadership. Mrs. Coufal recently completed her Master's Degree in Applied Science from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in August 2015. Mrs. Coufal made a tough decision in the Spring of 2016 to leave the outstanding atmosphere at Riverside and go back to her hometown of St. Paul to help continue the legacy there. Mrs. Coufal is excited for the upcoming school year to embark on the journey of her hometown pride at St. Paul Public School.
Family
Mrs. Coufal and her husband, Joe, were married on 06-07-08. They reside on a diversified farm near Wolbach, raising crops and Red Angus cattle. A few good bulls and heifers are sold each year to nearby producers as breeding stock. The Coufals also have a few Boer goats and a Corgi named Dixie. Joe and MaKayla welcomed their two boys to their family, Reed Joseph on September 21, 2015 and Henry James on April 21, 2017.
